What it doesExtends the basket wall upwards so a full dose can be ground directly into it without spilling.

Grinder burrs are sharp and reachable when the hopper is off. Never put a finger into the grind chamber to clear a jam; unplug the grinder first.

What actually goes wrong

  • Grind into the funnel, then WDT, then remove it — that order avoids spillage entirely.
  • A magnetic fit is worth the extra cost if your basket rim is uneven.
  • Check the funnel clears the grinder forks before you buy it.
